I'm thinking you're right here. VJ is merely baffled, over his head, "puzzled" you might say. McAdoo seems like an a-hole watching it all slip through his fingers and so lashing out against subordinates. Kind of a McDaniels move, really. Eli has two rings and that will buy a whole lotta love from the Giants fans, as well it should.

Default Eli Manning gets QB job back after Ben McAdoo, Jerry Reese fired

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Eli Manning is expected to return as the New York Giants' starting quarterback after a one-week demotion, a source tells ESPN.

The Giants host the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday at MetLife Stadium. There had been talk of former players coming to the game and standing on the sideline in No. 10 Manning jerseys in a show of solidarity.

Manning had a streak of 210 consecutive starts end Sunday when the Giants lost 24-17 in Oakland. Geno Smith started in his place.

That sounds like the kind of rumor that fans start because they want it to be true.
