FTR, I don't think Mayfield is a hardened criminal or a druggie.

I just think he'll be covering college football for ESPN or selling insurance in OKC by the time he's 30.

He's from Austin, so he'll be working in Texas.

I know, but he can probably have any job he wants in the OKC area right now...

Today...yes. Maybe not once/IF the luster of a filed career wears off. Besides...NTL has the OKC market cornered. Really doesn't require that many agents in that city.

We also aren't going to take a quarterback because Elway trusts Kubiak, and Kubiak now, though he was not then (in Houston) in love with Keenum.

This is the situation. Whomever we draft, I will support. If the Nelson Nerds are happy at the end of the first round, so be it. I'll support him. If it's Mayfield, I'll support him. I don't want it to be a cornerback, but if we take one, so be it. What I believe will happen is separate from my fandom. I cheered every single time my nemesis, TS, did something well.
That's not exactly what I've been hearing about why there is concern about drafting Rosen. The concern is that he's the kind of quarterback that gets his teammates to rally around him.

His UCLA teammates loved him. His personality issues seem more 'observed' by people who don't like certain other parts of his personality.

He's a milennial who questions things and doesn't just assume the status quo. It can be good or bad, especially in the NFL. We're about to find out which.
