Mayfield is my favorite QB but my 2nd QB choice at #5. Darnold is only QB I would take before Mayfield. Rosen is fragile and gets rattled too easily. Darnold has his faults too like ball security.

Get a QB with great work ethic and motivatrd/willing to put in extra time to perfect craft then any college QB can succeed.

    good news, MO!

Baker Mayfield has visits set up with the Giants, Jets and Browns, but the University of Oklahoma quarterback said in a Sports Illustrated story he hit it off with the Broncos and Dolphins at the combine. Miami is among the teams scheduled to work him out privately in Norman.

Mayfield told Robert Klemko he believes he aced the tests given by Miami, Denver, New Orleans and a handful of other teams that asked him to dissect a play drawn up by a coach on a white board.

These reports of his high football acumen are at odds with MO's blockhead profile of the kid.

Football acumen isn't the same thing as 'not' being a blockhead. See Michael Irvin, Chad Kelly, etc.

I used to love Mayfield’s attitude but it’s already getting old.

    I think ... I just don’t like ... people.

For those who still care, reports are that Mayfield had a good pro day. Broncos had the most representation. Elway, Kubiak, VJ, and 4 others. I’m sure they were scouting Brown, too. Supposedly, Brown also was much better than he was at the combine.

One of the cool things Mayfield did was run/move around a lot as part of his throwing to try to display that he could still make the throws accurately when he’s tired (as happens late in games).

So long as he's smart enough, this is an okay selection for me. Height is overrated.

    Case Keenum and Baker Mayfield.

    What could go wrong?

I've been resigned to this outcome for over a week. I'm not sure what you told me that I didn't already expect...

Height, arm strength, arm length ... do you have any standards?
