"rigpig" I'll have to add this to the list of Canadian slang that I've learned, mostly from watching "Murdock's Mysteries." So is this town full of "gumshites" (sp?)? Based on the context in which Inspector Brackenreid is constantly using the term, it must mean something bad

I will have to defer to someone else, I have never heard that term and I don't know what murdock mysteries is. It's a good word though, I might start using it.

Murdock's Mysteries (the TV series, not the made for TV movies that preceded it), is the best Canadian show on TV. It's about a Toronto police detective who is also a man of science. Its for 1st season is set in 1896 and you get see Murdock trying to solve crime using what was considered cutting edge science of the time. By about the 3rd season they get a little carried away with Canadian inventors being so forward thinking that their inventing primitive version of late 20th century technology (such as night vision goggles) just before the dawn of the 20th century. Inspector Brackenreid is actually a transplant from England who got his start in policing at Scotland Yard, so maybe his slang may actually be British.

You & I have different taste in entertainment Netflix has the 1st 7 seasons of Murdoch's Mysteries, you'll need Acorn TV (Basicly the British version of Netflix) to watch 8-10.

I saw an episode of MM, it was ok. I actually like that kind of show more than most. A bit dry, kind of BBC-ish like Poirot.

But I watched every gd episode of TPB...
