It's been many, many years since we've made any changes to the mod team. We have one moderator that hasn't actually posted in a couple years, and a couple more who just don't have time to participate regularly, which I can fully understand and relate to.
Even with some mods not participating as fully as others, we've been very slow to make any changes, because setting aside the occasional claim to the contrary, the reality is that BF is a very lightly moderated forum. As such, the mod team has been cautious about making a change, when the majority of forum members seem to agree the current team has struck a nice balance in their moderation style.
So, the changes.
You will notice Frau, Mike and Horespower no longer being listed as moderators. To Mike and HP who are still regular posters, thanks for your time on the mod team, and as a fellow posting member of BF, I can only hope that we'll have better things to talk about going forward regarding both football and non football topics then the last year or so has brought us.
On to the additions. The mod team has had an ongoing discussion for the past month or so about which posters might make good additions to the mod team. They didn't take it lightly, and spent quite a bit of time on and off over the last month plus hashing out possible candidates. I received a PM a few days ago telling me to get my ___ into the mod area (I'm not a regular participant), as they had decided on the new candidates and it was time for me to do my small, but I think equally important part, which is to set them up with the correct permissions and post this announcement.
So, while I like to pen very wordy posts (aka, Zork's Maximum Verbosity), I will attempt to wrap this up and say with no further ado...
I would like to both thank them for their acceptance and welcome Slick and WayNinja as the newest members of the BF Mod Squad. The mod team was excited about adding Slick and Ninja to their team. The moderators, and I, feel that Slick and Ninja will bring a fair and balanced view to the mod team and allow BF to continue to be run with a fairly light touch, fair approach to moderation.
So once again, welcome and a big thanks to Slick and Ninja.
