    Default Only the Browns

Apparently the Browns and Bengals had a trade going for AJ McCarron. Bengals approved it with the NFL, Browns missed the deadline.

Even bigger than that, why the **** weren't the Broncos trying to make that deal?????

Bengals and Browns actually agreed to AJ McCarron trade at 3:55 pm, per source involved. Bengals approved trade to NFL, Browns did not.

    Why not? Because he sucks.

Thank god we did not do that. That would be worse than starting paxton or one of our other 4 qbs
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

If the Bengals were willing to trade him inside their own division, that should tell you all you need to know about how good he is.

I think it’s hilarious the Browns didn’t close the deal. They just created a bunch of drama in division rival.

apparently the Browns didn't get it sent in on time because the brass were busy patting each other on the back.

Like inviting Ozweiler to be their QB.

Let's be real about that... Osweiler was never brought there to actually play. He was brought there with the specific intent of buying a second round pick to get up to their salary floor. Remember, teams must now spend a certain percentage of the salary cap. Gone are the days where a Cleveland can have a meager roster and keep their salaries low to save money, the MUST spend a certain amount each year. Taking a second round pick along with Brock's millions and dumping him was the plan from the start.

I'm not as sure of that theory as you. I agree it seemed most likely...but there was always a slim chance Oz might defy his intrinsic megapout and white knight that sumbitch.

Sure, that was a possibility. However, the belief amongst all the people in the know from the beginning was that he was there only to soak up those millions and that he would be cut at the end of training camp no matter what. The rookie outplayed him by a pretty good bit, but if the intention was every anything other than cutting him they would've at least kept him on as a backup.

The FO scuddled the deal that the HC wanted because they didn’t want the deal.

Apparently this kinda thing happens all the time in baseball, where their FO came from. Brad Pitt did shit like this to Phillip Seymour Hoffman when the two were with the A’s.

I wouldn’t know cause baseball sucks unless you’re smart.

Yeah but it's way more fun to spout the "ZOMG Brock is so bad he couldn't even make the Browns roster lolololol!" hot take than to actually consider the nuance of the situation.

It's not that hard. The team didn't think he was roster-worthy so they cut him. Let's not cloud the issue. If Brent helps the team he's on the roster, but he didn't so he wasn't. Only a sentimental pet owner wanted him back.
