Here the reasons are not just performance.

Fox walked because he wouldn't turn up the intensity. He then tanked in Chicago and is unhirable.

Kubiak retired because the loaded roster he inherited was crumbling, as was his health. Again, not something performance related.

VJ was hired and then retained a second year. This is pure performance.

The analogy doesn't work that well, imo. But, truly you are smarter than I am.

We've only technically fired one coach since we got rid of shanny.

I appreciate the conversation though. It was well thought out and no one was mad at each other. Feel good about that.

    I don't think he's getting fired.

I will say that Elway absolutely has to get the next coach and the next QB right. If those next two are duds again, it becomes almost impossible to keep defending his performance.

He's on borrowed time but his leash is longer than VJ's.

I don't think so. It would take a couple more years of this, imo.

Joseph should be gone already. Horrified he isn't.

I’m glad we can all that VJ is 100% to blame for everything and that he should be fired.

    I think he's overrated and a jackass.

I think the bottom line, both figuratively and financially, is this - if both Keenum and VJ are back next year, the fans won’t come to the games and VJ has less of a cap hit...

Seriously, unless we go out and sign/trade for another team’s unwanted veteran QB, Keenum will still be here next year keeping the seat warm for whoever we draft as QBOTF. I think it’s more likely Elway brings in a coach he thinks can help Keenum than a QB who will shield VJ. Staying with both will cost him the fan base.

He runs the team to roll with a leaf. His defense was up and down, but that defense was supposed to let CK be a leaf. That's on VJ. Also, he bumbled games when that leaf was in the lead, or in the thick of it.

The year prior his dodge neon was good enough to get the team out to a hot start, too.

    They fire his ass yet?
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.
