I wanna see David Shaw coaching this team next season.
Let's Rid3!!!!
Has Shaw changed his mind about wanting to coach in the NFL? He seems content at Stanford, and has said so since being there.
I try not to overreact to preseason games, but it does seem like the Broncos have not been ready to play at the start of most games under VJ’s tenure. I hope he’s not as milquetoast with the team as he is the media. Even more concerning is that what was a huge strength last year (run defense) was a decided weakness last night against a team missing 3 starting offensive linemen. I’m losing it for Woods pretty quickly.

Vikings Defense might be the best in the NFL, so I'm not going to overreact and say that no improvements were made this offseason. What was troubling to me last night was Paxton Lynch. He will almost certainly be out of the NFL in the next 2 years. At least the last project at QB the Broncos took first round had undeniable heart and character. This guy just doesn't seem to care.
Special teams looked MUCH better last night, so I'll give VJ some props for firing Olivo.
The questionable decisions by VJ I saw:
-Not keeping the offensive starters in the game. He could have sent a message to his team that what happened last year will not be accepted.
-Not promoting Chad Kelly to QB2 before the game. Based on what happened last night and samples from the last 2 years, Paxton just isn't an NFL caliber quarterback.
David Shaw?! No more hot coordinators and no one from College please? Need a proven Coach who has gotten results, or a former Bronco (Dennison? Another guy who i thought coulda replaced Kubes).
Kinda like when Fox was brought in to promote football rehab after the McDouche debacle. Thwy need that again.

I don't see any issue with David Shaw. "No hot coordinators or college coaches" severely limits options, and is unrealistic. I would love to see David Shaw coach this team, and with the talent on this roster he would probably have the same results as the last coach to make the leap from Stanford to the NFL (or better).
There aren't any retreads I anticipate being on the market that would make me go "yeah, let's go get him."
To be fair we didn't hire the hot commodity coordinator last time.
We hired someone that was a shitty DC but a "leader of men".
Maybe we should try the hot commodity route again...
