The Plan at the moment:
Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).
Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell
I don’t think he’s going anywhere guys.

I think that has become the consensus based on nothing at all really, other than one flimsy NFLN report from an unreliable Ian Rappaport, and that we won two consecutive games and people came off the ledge a tad.
I think the coach fundamentally lacks credibility and Elway's hand will be forced.
I am predicting that VJ gets fired after the KC game.
Someone should post dmac's last 5-10 tweets. He thinks VJ's gonna get the ax too and his logic makes sense.

I wouldn't let Vance stick around. He isn't head coach material. Too many fundamental mistakes this season.
I'm giving him a pass on the QB situation but he just hasn't run the team well. He needs to go.

--The decision to hire VJ wasn't unanimous inside Dove Valley. The noncompetitive losses are not sitting well at Dove Valley.
--VJ has tried to be the players' friend more than their coach and hasn't gained the respect of the locker room as a result. Hasn't gained respect of fellow coaches or front office - dmac thinks Ellis will have learned from the McDaniels situation and will realize he has to move on sooner rather than later regardless of how it hurts after one year.
-- Also thinks Kubiak will be elevated/groomed to take over Elway's role, and that Ellis doesn't fully trust Elway/Russel's personnel decisions.
More from dmac:
Fox was a good hire, but not a closer.
Kubiak was too loyal to his assistants in the end.
VJ a straight up bad hire.
Elway a great closer, great face of the franchise - not a great personnel guy.
with all due respect, that sounds like a bunch of crap to me. . . just more douche-mac shock-jockery. . . i highly doubt that guy of all people is who joe ellis would confide in. . . joe signed elway to a huge five year extension one year ago, and now he's "grooming" gary to take john's place? i don't buy that for one second. . .
that doesn't guarantee that vance is safe, of course, but i don't think dmac knows anything. . . i would guess that everyone in dove valley despises the weasel, just like the rest of the world. . .
What has this bum done to deserve to not be fired? All that he has done is shown his ineptness and his inability to lead the team again and again. There is literally zero hope as this season has gone along...other than the hope of an early draft pick.
I am all for giving a guy time, but he has to show some signs of capability.
For all of dmac's faults - he is generally pretty good about having the pulse of the team...
The Kubiak stuff seems pretty speculative - but the VJ stuff seems at least rooted in fact... And as with all things, I believe where there is smoke there is fire - for instance:
-- I believe that VJ hasn't won over anybody from players to fellow coaches to front office. If he lacks as much credibility inside of those walls as he does in fan circles - they simply can't keep him.
-- I believe he's kind of saying that Kubiak gained a ton of respect with Ellis last year by playing TS in the last game despite the fact that Elway/Russell wanted to see Paxton. And by deciding he'd rather retire than fire his assistant coaches... (And of course his long track record that preceded all of that). In the end, whether that means he takes over for Elway is totally speculative - but it would make sense for Kubiak's role and influence to grow.
