Nobody picks up anybody*
I love this play. It's like watching a train wreck.
1st down is at the 19 yard line in our own half.
This is at the point where the QB's drop back is complete - so decision time.
1. Our slot CB is still giving up so much cushion that it's an automatic 1st if Fields wants it.
2. Our safety (Yell) slips because he can't make up his mind on which guy to cover. Maybe Vance wants him to cover both?
3. The Mike and CB end up covering one guy over the middle.
4. Not to be left out, the DL complete a double stunt, poorly and slowly, where one rusher has his back to the pocket, the other is blocked by the first and in each other's way.
5. *The ONLY guy that is actually covering anybody is PS2.
Result? About a 20 yard gain on one of the most basic concepts in the passing game: Double shallow crosser.

I can forgive having lack of talent, backups starting because of injury, getting beat by great execution, etc.
But losing drive after drive, giving up big plays, TDs THREE weeks in a row because you're guys don't know who's covering who, who's rushing what gap, LBers not understanding their assignments is just grounds for termination based on incompetence.
I have no idea how professional level players and coaching can be this bad.
Thanks for the effort, Helios, that’s cool shit.

Yeah, why blame the QB for botching the first two games of the year, and badly at that?
16 points against awful Vegas, second half nightmare against the Commanders. But we get it; you found a one sentence mantra as a defense and it spars you from having to actually defend your (bad) position.
- John Elway“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”
I don’t have to defend shit Russ is the Least of this teams issue been my stance from the jump and the rest of the NFL knows it too. Not my fault a couple bozos lol want to nuance the shit out of Russ to ignore the shit sandwich that was our d, coaching and skill players issues to date…In the end I don’t really care it’s Russ’s fault and we can move on Rawr….
Of course you do; if someone makes an argument or a stance they have to defend it, otherwise it's just wasted noise. I know what your stance is; but your stance doesn't put enough blame on a QB. It's telling that your rebuttals quickly turned into a one-liner meme. Never a rebuttal for week one or week two, or addressing that having an expensive game manager QB doesn't work, especially when it drains your roster of talent, etc. Does it matter in the grand scheme of things? **** no. This is a message board...in 2023. Rawr4life.
