So LeBron/Kawhi/PG to the Lakers confirmed pretty much. The Western conference is going to be wild next year.

This is probably one of Pop's biggest failures. Leonard is a quiet and unassuming kid - going at him in the media and telling Manu and Parker to call that meeting where they killed Leonard was the end of it.
The Spurs wanted Kyried badly last year. I wonder if that trade could even go through with the health of Kyrie?
I didn't want to believe it.
Agreed. The only caveat I can think of is if Boston makes it and that team fulfills all of its talent expectations and we get another classic seven game series. L.A. vs. Boston, with two stacked teams...
The league is dangerously close to self-styling!
The Kawhi situation is just bizarre and really disappointing for me as a long time Spurs fan.
One or two more seasons and Pop hangs it up to focus on team USA. End of an era.
He's the GOAT, though.
I think he acted irrationally because his former stars are fading, Aldridge is a good player and not a great one, and ultimately the window was tiny. Can he rebuild a team? Sure, he was a GM and still has an eye for talent and development, but he's old and that shit is grueling. Kawhi made the business decision that was best for him, and Pop was trying to maximize that window.
They were up 18 on GS before that effing goon took out Kawhi. I'm still pissed about that.
