Seems weird that BF would be targeted.
Looking at the tool's Twitter account, he's going after vBulletin sites. Since he sometimes talks about getting control of mod accounts and other times admin accounts, that makes me think that it isn't a vBulletin hack, per se, but instead he's targeting moderators and running password hacks against them, but that's just a guess. I didn't see anything on vBulletin's support forum, so at this time, I don't think it's a vB exploit, but I plan to put in a support ticket with Vb just to be sure.

Let's not be sexist here, tned. It could be a "her".

Well apparently I really suck at passwords. Dread didn't even need some fancy program to hack it! Social engineering at its finest.

Yeah, but the use of two x's was brilliant!

I have the same password on this site that I have used for 10 years. Time to change it.

Some individual must have a dull, boring, & loser life if they spend their pastime hacking into talk forums.

I don't know, I checked the guy out (coderunner3 or data_dox or whatever) and he's going around hacking LOTS of stuff... so maybe not "random", but the guy is sorta on a bender...

He probably could have done a bunch of malicious shit while he had admin powers and doesn't look like he did... more like he was just thrill seeking. So I guess that's sorta good?

Some of us have the quiet dignity to have a dull, boring, loser life without doing any of that.

Fortunately, with the overbearing mod of BF being paranoid and all, the mods have limited, non admin, powers. So, they can ban people, delete threads and such, but that's about it. For admin/backend stuff, not only does it take an admin account (this and one other), but there are additional layers of security that makes it a pain for me to get to the admin area.

Plus, nobody wants me with those powers. My ridiculously awesome password skills would have us all posting on Facebook within minutes.

We should all be issued RSA tokens and 2 factor authentication for site logon.

2 factor? psh. 2 person authentication at all times, let's make it like handling Top Secret info in here.

For maybe a month, when I start to log on to BF, I get the message - This connection is not secure. Logins entered here could be compromised. Learn more. Up until now, I had been ignoring it, but this morning I clicked on learn more, and the warning is coming from Firefox. Not sure if this is a big deal or not.
