We've agreed to terms with Brandon McManus on a new four-year deal. Brandon's made a lot of big kicks & is an important weapon for our team!

Only way deal made sense for McManus was at least 3 years. He is true weapon. Don't win Super Bowl without him. @DenverChannel

Brandon McManus has been a model of consistency for the Broncos. A luxury, his extension proves, that can't be taken for granted in the NFL.

#Broncos McManus is a new four-year deal through 2020. Puts him near top of salaries for kickers. Well-deserved. @DenverChannel

Brandon McManus is the most accurate kicker in Broncos history (84.8 FG pct). Was perfect in preseason. Was also voted ST captain this year.

Broncos gave kicker Brandon McManus a 3-year extension worth $11.254 million, including $6M guaranteed, per source.

Congrats to our best offensive player! In all seriousness, well deserved. He's been great and was huge in the playoffs in 2015.

Weird timing, but OK, good deal. It's not hyperbole to say we don't win the SB without him; even if we say his kicks weren't the difference in that game itself, we only GOT there because he made all his PATs in the AFCCG but Gostkowski DIDN'T, plus he added a pair of FGs, one from 52, in a game we won by a failed 2PAT.

We only got THERE because his FIVE FGs (including one from 51 and only one <40) were absolutely the difference between a 23-16 win and 8-16 loss against Pitt, keeping us in it til our lone TD, then pushing the lead to two scores so VonWareWolfe could tee off.

He also set a playoff record by going a PERFECT 10/10 on ALL postseason kicks (could've been more, but we had a pair of successful 2PATs.)

It's hard for any kicker to get respect, much less big money, playing half his games in Mile Highs thin air, but McManus deserves his payday, both for the above and that impressive franchise-best 85% career mark for FGs. Just because the ball goes a long way through thin air doesn't mean it goes STRAIGHT, but his do.

Congrats to McManus, the latest in a long line of feel good stories about guys who came out of nowhere (in this case, undrafted from the Giants PS) to prove themselves stars in Denver. It was a long time coming but well earned.
Oh, valid point. I thought you meant all starters, you should take the time to be more descriptive, don't be shy. Jaded

TJ, you were expendable for a kicker. Let that sink in.

Gem, I really don't believe he had anything to do with TJ being released.

aaaand this is why you don't spend good money on freakin' kickers. . . next time, please throw the extra money at calais campbell instead?

in all seriousness, anybody got a decent theory on why mcmanus has suddenly turned into a choking dog? is the pressure of the contract too much for him? did the money make him complacent? maybe he tripped over brian griese's dog, or slipped on a mcdonald's bag or something? is it too late to bring prater back? come on, dude, you have ONE job!
