I think you’re being overly sensitive, as usual. I wasn’t being sarcastic at all. If I wasn’t required to study the rules I would feel the same way you do. My point was that yes, as a casual fan, that was a catch, but the crew that is required to understand the nuances of the rules, no matter how distasteful, ruled correctly that, as the rule is written, that was not a catch.

Garrapolo has turned the 9ers around. Why didn't JFE go after him?

Boys, boys. Let's back it down a bit.

It was the correct call, but I agree it's part of the reason a lot of people are getting turned off by the NFL and their rules.

In all honesty, his knee went down with control of the ball as it crossed the goal line. Since he bobbled it (after crossing the goal line and his hands/ball hitting the ground), I get it wasn't technically a catch, and within the rules to rule it as such. But, it is a turnoff and the NFL needs to address it.

This is all I’m saying, yet I’m the a-hole for pointing it out.

Default Source: Steelers' Antonio Brown has partially torn calf muscle

PITTSBURGH -- Steelers All-Pro wide receiver Antonio Brown is unlikely to play next week against the Houston Texans after suffering a partially torn calf muscle on Sunday, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter. He is expected back for the postseason.

Brown left Pittsburgh's 27-24 loss to the Patriots early in the second quarter with a left calf injury and did not return. Team officials helped Brown off the field and all the way into a blue tent on the sideline. He was then taken into the tunnel and later to the hospital for evaluation.

    it's a retarded rule.

What's even more retarded, single coverage on Dirty Gronk. Being arrogant and trying to go for the touchdown rather than settle for a FG and OT.

Was going to say this. This same 49ers team with little talent was 1-10 earlier this year and are now 3-0 with Garoppolo. We know a QB isn't everything, but it certainly makes more of a difference than any other player or position. We need one.

Is it? On this pass to Cooper he clearly loses control when going out of bounds but it was still called a TD.

And according to the rules, all a player needs to do is put the ball over the goal line.

    Supplemental notes,

The ball is automatically dead when it is in legal possession of a player and is on, above, or behind the opponent’s goal line.

The NFL catch rule has issues, but Steelers' 'survive the ground' call was right
