Yes, and whoever signs Oz will sign him to the veteran minimum, because Cleveland is already on the hook for $16 million. So, whether they sign him for $900k or $9 million, doesn't make one bit of difference to Oz, since all it does is reduce how much of the difference Cleveland has to pay him.
I'm not convinced they will bring him in, just saying he is a journeyman that could make some sense to serve as backup for a few weeks.
Still think they would rather have someone who isn't vested and won't require them to guarantee the full year, so think it's likely they find a third year player that's been released.

Letting Taylor go would be a mistake but Denver has already been down that road with Ward so i wouldnt be surprised. Either way, if Taylor gets cut he will get picked up quickly by someone.

I'm told a pay cut was not discussed with Ward. Plan was to move on to to Justin Simmons and Will Parks. "It was a football decision."
I hadn't mentioned it, but Amber actually met Oz's father about a month ago at her work and bullshitted with him for a bit. He said Oz regretted leaving Denver badly within a week and hated Houston. He knew he screwed up. Him ending up in Denver would not shock me.
Not if you think your young player has little to know drop off, has a better chance of staying on the field (didn't Ward miss games at end of season, plus all of preseason) and it means you can keep a young safety as depth. Putting Simmons/Park in lineup would be the "now" and keeping young safety depth PLUS experience for young starters/rotation the "now on."
