Default 53 man roster discussion (roster cuts, trades, final roster, etc)

I thought we should have a thread for all of the roster moves over the next couple of days. As of this morning, we had 90 guys on our roster:

I know this was posted in a couple of places, but I figured I'd start with this, since it's our first real move of the weekend:

We have agreed to trade OL Ty Sambrailo to Atlanta for its 5th round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.

I'm a little surprised we even got a 5th for Sambo. Shows how thirsty teams are for o-linemen.

That's precisely why good OTs don't last until the end of the 2nd round. When the value of QBs is so high it pushes the value of OTs that much higher, letting eight go by yet expecting to strike gold with the ninth is folly. Fortunately, we took this years very first OT, so literally had our choice of any rookie OT; fingers crossed we got it right.
Oh, valid point. I thought you meant all starters, you should take the time to be more descriptive, don't be shy. Jaded

Broncos have waived WR Anthony Nash. Gotta think he's a practice squad candidate. #9sports

The 5th for Sambrailo is good. It's more than I expected for him or Stephenson. Stephenson stays on a reworked contract, but he and Sambrailo were both terrible and only one was gonna get a 5th. As long as Donald doesn't see the field we'll be okay. If he does, then we would have been screwed with Ty as well.

Elway's added Butt, McKenzie, McGovern, Doss, Barrow, T. King and Malik Jackson in the 5th since he's been here. Whether he uses it for ammo to trade up or just drafts a guy, he's been better with 5ths than 2nds. Find all the extra late picks ya want, John.

A little surprised they cut both Ridley and Juwan, but their belief in Jamaal Charles is strong.

He had some serious bounce Thur night. And the Broncos seem to know he doesn't need to be the man.

And they don't want to put Booker on the PUP, so they are looking at 4 RBs plus a FB, so no room for Ridley/Thompson unless Booker's on PUP.

Yeah, it's the Booker thing. With the tendency of our RB crew to get busted up with injuries every year, I just like to have a lot of em on hand. Ridley and Juwan both looked good, with Juwan serving the extra benefit of being a good special teamer who can fill in at FB if anything happens to the Nebraska Nightmare. You just can't keep em all. It's a good problem to have.

Incredibly proud of what he has done with his chance. Nothing but the best to a really good guy!
