Find it funny how #2 sacks the shit out of #1 every chance he gets.

That's some big time respect from hi peers to vote him the second best player in the entire league last year. Wow.

In a way I'm kinda glad he finished 2nd in DPOY. He seemed pretty pissed about it and it will probably give him that much more motivation this year. He is too good never to win DPOY.

TOTALLY different situation, dude: That was in a 4-3, because the MLB is a key player there and OLBs only supporting ones. In a 3-4 the situation's completely reversed, and OLB is precisely where Von belongs (and not just because 3-4 OLB is his natural position and has been since college, though that certainly helps.)

Maybe the biggest play Von made on Brady in his CAREER wasn't a sack—it was an Int in the 2015 AFCCG to set up an easy TD in a single-point win that sent us to the SB. A SB, btw, where Von made ANOTHER key pass coverage play to deny a starting WR a catch that would've been a guaranteed 1st and G, possibly even a TD outright. Von is a master-of-all-trades LB, which is why he was wasted as a great 4-3 Sam, but a likely HoFer as a 3-4 OLB.

What I don't get is how he could be ranked 15th the year he won SB MVP (and was easily the MVP of the whole postseason,) yet 2nd in a year when that spotlight and Wares age earned him far more unwelcome double-team attention that reduced his impact, and his team didn't even make the playoffs.
Oh, valid point. I thought you meant all starters, you should take the time to be more descriptive, don't be shy. Jaded

The ballots are given to the players around Thanksgiving, so at that point he wasn't SB MVP yet. This was the first vote since his MVP, which is probably why he shot up so much.

Ah ha; wondered if it might be some kind of "delayed reaction" like that, so thanks for verifying the suspicion.
