Default Colts: Former lineman admits to cheating in Manning's rookie year.

I stated it before, teams will always try to find ways to cut corners or "cheat" to get an advantage. This was something that Shanahan even admitted to but people didnt want to believe me.

Many have suspected the Colts of bending the rules over the years, and now there's actually some proof.

In an Indianapolis Star profile of former Colts offensive lineman Tarik Glenn, he revealed the Colts had a system in place to deal with crowd noise on the road, which helped Peyton Manning when he was a rookie in 1998.

“We were playing on the road, it might have been Peyton’s rookie year, and it was really loud,” Glenn told the paper. “Peyton [Manning] hadn’t mastered the silent count, so [former offensive line coach] Howard Mudd had us wearing these hearing aids that were supposed to muffle the crowd while projecting the quarterback’s voice.”

Of course, any type of hearing aid would be illegal.

WHY should it be illegal? Sounds archaic. If they put amplified speakers in the QBs helmets to assist them with playcalling, why shouldn't offensive linemen be equipped with hearing aids that muffle out crowd noise, in fact any player should be allowed to wear them if it will help.

Let's imagine there's an NFL game played during a major terror threat and fans are not actually allowed into the arena but, for the sake of tv, the game is still played in a empty stadium. Every player on the field would then hear play calls exceedingly well because there would be no crowd noise. So is that cheating or is that entirely fair? Give them *all* the option for special hearing aids. That would be fair.

And FUNNY that the Boston radio station would have an issue with this when their home team jams helmet signals, deflates balls and other mischief and then wants to portray themselves as the victims.

No one has ever disputed that all teams try to get away with stuff. If the Colts had been caught, they'd likely take their draft pick punishment like most teams.

It's not cheating unless you get caught.

How many times have the Pats been caught?

In the last year, or overall?

So that begs the question; how is Tom Shady tainting his legacy now? We know he's cheating but how? My guess is blood-doping and HGH.

I just saw an article like yesterday that said those ear pieces are actually perfectly legal. Sorry to burst your bubble of you defending your boyfriend Brady, North.

I hope you warmed up before attempting that stretch.

You didn't answer the question. Why should it be against the rules?

I guess this is more of a blog than an article, but he does cite another reported example of a team doing it in recent years and not being punished.
