Next month. He got a special edition sneak peak issue for being a long time loyal customer.

For the record, I live in Arkansas. The locals still won't claim me or give me "from Arkansas" status. I'm still an invading, Yankee, carpet bagger, even though I moved down here when I was 13...

I meant to add that Elway could make that throw while following backward and without an ACL in one leg or a bicep tendon in one arm...

I have to say I laughed at this while also looking at your avatar. I'm like, is he talking about Cutler or Tyrion!

Guys like Vick, Favre, Rogers, and Flacco are probably in the discussion too in terms of pure arm talent. Vick, for my money, had the best pure arm talent I've seen since Elway retired. Dude could throw the ball a mile and make it look effortless.

I don't remember the game, but it was relatively early (80s or early 90s), I remember a game where Elway was either rolling to the right on a naken boot or the like, or maybe just drifting to the right. He must have been near the numbers on the right and threw back across his body to the numbers on the other side of the field and maybe 60+ yards downfield. Must have been 75+ yards in the air, and it wasn't one of these moon shots like a lot of bombs, this was more of a line drive.

    Incredible arm.

Remember that game winning "hail mary" against the redskins to Rod Smith? My memory of that was that it was like a 50 yard throw but it was on a rope.

Yep, I think they were close to mid field, elway maybe just a shade to the left of the center, hit's smith at the goal line and he kind of falls across for a TD. Smith's first catch or TD I believe.

Looked for that pass to Smith but haven't found it. I'm pretty sure it was against the Redskins (I'm allowed to use that word again, right?)

That play is in the sound effects video in the first post.
