Former pound-for-pound king and five-division world champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. made the official announcement on social media Wednesday, confirming that he will exit a 23-month retirement at age 40 to face Conor McGregor, the UFC superstar, in a boxing match on Aug. 26 in Las Vegas.

I'm kind of concerned if he's even competitive with Mayweather he'll never go back to MMA. He could just line up another big money bout with Cannello

Boxing rules!! McGregor doesn't have a chance.

I grew up watching boxing, but now I've switched to mma. I find it to be far superior.

McGregor would beat Mayweather's ass in a real fight.

That net worth is pretty important in the tale of the tape.

But this is boxing......and that's money Mayweather.

Go Irish, but my $$$ is on Floyd.

I already touched on it a little bit. I'm hopeful McGregor doesn't quit mma.

I also don't know who I like less (probably Mayweather).

Either way I'll pay for the fight and hopefully there's some decent fights on the undercard too.

Oh wait! I agree. In a real fight he would kick Mayweathers ass.

The point I was trying to make is they are using boxing rules, not MMA rules. Therefore I believe Mayweather will win but I like watching MMA better also.
