If there's sudden burst of loud sound that I can feel, like a door slamming nearby or a heavy object being dropped nearby, I will wake up because I can feel the vibrations from these incidents. The vibrations from these incidents might also show up in my dream shortly before I wake up.

Moreover, It varies depending on the individual and their educational experiences/training. Some Deaf people have been taught to use hearing aids or other auditory amplification devices... Deaf people, who gain no or little benefit from auditory amplification, may tell you that they do not have sound in their dreams.

Hard of hearing people could hear sounds in dreams.

Along the same lines I wonder what it was like for the first guy to eat grapes? Some caveman rummaging through the forest all he'd ever eaten was raw meat and bitter berries and he stumbles upon a grape vine and just starts chowing down. His whole world must have changed. That was a good day.
