I'm definitely not the biggest Cutler fan, but you're correct in your assessment. Perhaps, his calling is to be a commentator.

Poor King, he was a Bengal fan for so long that he even thinks Jay Cutler is a good QB.

Before deciding to go to FOX, Jay Cutler had real discussions with Jets, and less-promising ones with Texans. Cutler opted for analyst role.

He does have a soothing voice.

Man...all the QB's we should have signed go out and do commentary.

There's no truth to the rumor that when Fox reaches the playoffs, Cutler will sit and Caleb Hanie will fill in...

Jay Cutler’s playing days appear to be over. But his presence on TV on football Sundays will continue.

On Friday it became official that Cutler will now be launching his broadcast career, hired by Fox Sports to be a color analyst on a broadcast team that also includes Kevin Burkhardt and Charles Davis.

In a press release, Fox Sports president of production and executive producer spoke enthusiastically about Cutler's hiring.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Jay to the Fox Sports family,” Entz said. “We’re very excited about the potential he brings to the booth and are looking forward to hearing his analysis during what is sure to be another great season of the NFL on Fox.”

Jay Cutler picked a pretty damn Jay Cutler way to leave football Friday, turning down lukewarm interest from multiple quarterbackless NFL teams to take a TV gig while citing a Henry Rollins quote about ambivalence. The only way it could’ve been more Cutty would’ve been if Kristin Cavallari posted an Instagram photo where he’d written DON’T on one buttcheek and CAAAAAAAAARE on the other, with a pile of unsigned contract offers in the background.

Cutler was never the quarterback Bears fans wanted him to be. He came to Chicago a year after making the Pro Bowl in his third season with the Broncos. The Bears assumed they were getting a franchise player. They were right, as Cutler has been the defining player of their team since then, although not in the way they hoped. In eight years, the Bears went 51–51 with Cutler. He never made another Pro Bowl, and Chicago made the playoffs only once, in 2010. Of course, the Bears went 1–1 and Cutler completed 21 of 42 passing attempts in those two playoff games. Twice, he led the league in interceptions. As Chase Stuart wrote at Football Perspective, Cutler is the definition of an average quarterback, averaging 0.03 adjusted net yards per attempt more than the league average for his career. For this, the Bears paid him $97 million.

Well good for Jay, lets just hope he does get sacked after one broadcast or gets intercepted by another commentator when he goes to do his own commentary.
