This man is a pass rushing beast. The scouting reports will say that he has motor issues, but it's not true. The fact is that he wears himself out chasing plays all over the field. His motor never stops. I think he comes in as a part time pass rush specialist. He was an Elway type of prospect. Team captain, team leader, heart of the defense, high production, and a chip on his shoulder. He reported ran a 4.76 40 at his pro day- at 280 pounds. I think Elway sees him as an inside pass rusher on obvious passing downs. This should help make up for the loss of Malik's production on passing downs.

I think he's a beast of effort and technique I wish there was a little bit more twitch. But I think he'll make us very happy. I guess my question is at 280 in a traditional 3-4 does he have the ability to Anchor against the run as a five tech and how do you use him effectively as an inside rusher unless you're using 43 looks?

I wonder if Elways sees him as a Malik upside type player. Malik was only 275 when we drafted him and was seen as a tweener. It took him 3-4 years to turn into the 295 pound beast he is now

Love this pick. Did not think he would fall to us. He is similiar size to wolfe and rwports said hus frame cpuld take adding on weight. So both DE around 6'4 280lb.

I agree. He will prob start as passing downs until his run stuffing improves but he is a disrupter that lives in backfield getting sacks and tackles for loss.

Can he help us against the run? That's much more pressing than the pass rush - getting a pass rush from the line is important- right now.

Interior push is needed too. Malik did that which made qbs step back in pocket.

I understand that, but we got ran on badly last year. So much so that teams didn't have to pass, ergo making the pass rush a flicker as opposed to the flaming death inferno. I think I'd argue that improving on run defense would help the pass rush more. However, pushing the pocket lets our beasts do what they do as that's what they does.

That's what Peko and Kerr were signed for. We still needed and interior pass rusher on passing downs.

Peko and Kerr are retreads. They're stopgaps players at this point. Walker, if he wants to be a starter, is going to have to improve our run defense, imo.

I don't mind a 5 tech but maybe we should have targeted a one tech.
