Right but you're making my point for me. I could just as easily argue that the coal miners aren't deserving of sympathy because they're unskilled and should have done more to secure their future... I'm not making that case - because I feel sympathy for the reporter and the coal miner who lose their jobs.
In general, why is it so hard for you (and others) to just exhibit some basic empathy without seeing things in political terms?
