    Default The List

of names you want to hear called when the Broncos draft in a couple weeks.

What names do you want to hear at 20?

What do you hope to hear period (ie move up for McCaffrey)?

What names do you NOT want to hear at 20?

I *don't* want them to draft Ryan Ramczyk. Not b/c injuries or even 1 year of D1 fb. He's a reasonable talent with fair film. It's because I don't think he really cares enough or loves football enough to help the Broncos in a meaningful way over then next 5 years.

My #1 guy is Haason Reddick. I think he can be the next great linebacker in the NFL. After that, give me Bolles, Lamp, Robinson or Ramczyk. Any of them will be day one starters. I don't see Elway passing up on a great defensive talent regardless of position though. This draft is full of corners that can be #1s. A corner wouldn't surprise me.

I wouldn't mind McCaffrey at all as long as the Broncos don't trade up for him. He should be long gone at 20.

I don't want to hear one of the OL names in the first. I know we need one but I don't think any of the guys in this draft are that big of an upgrade over what we have to justify spending a first round pick on them.

I have the nagging suspicion that in five years we'll look at this draft as a big bowl of nothing if we draft one of those OL that in most other draft classes would be second rounders at best.

I'd love to see any of these dudes at 20...Reddick, Foster, McDowell, McCaffrey, Mixon, Howard, Njoku, Ross, Cook, Corey Davis, TJ Watt, Peppers, and if they dropped...Humphrey, Lattimore, Fournette, Hooker, Adams, Barnett, ... That's all I can think of off the top. Cunningham at 20 would be fine, too.

Want to hear - McCaffery, Ramyczk, or Bolles.

Don't want to hear - McCaffery (if we trade up) Robinson, Ross, or Cook.

Watch some tape of those tackles yourself. Example- Watch the Bolles against UCLA game. You can find it on youtube. He completely shuts down Takkarist McKinley(possible top 15 pick) in that game. It also shows how quickly he gets to the second level and how he finishes his blocks. There are times when he's driving his man 10 yards down the field.

Watch that Ramczyk vs Michigan tape. He shuts down Taco Charlton(1st round prospect).

I think that in 5 years we will be looking back wondering why all of the draft experts said that this was a weak tackle class.

Malik McDowell, Reddick, or more importantly whomever the broncos have rated as best available. The top 2 tight ends seem really tempting if available, but if we don't fortify either our pathetic run D or our pathetic o line, we will be out of the playoffs again.

He won't be there but I'd love to see Reuben Foster. We need a run thumping MLB. That would improve our crap run "D".
Reddick would be my second guy.

I didn't list Foster because he's a top 5 talent in my eyes and I don't think there's any way he drops. Of course if he starts to fall, Elway has shown the propensity towards trading up for great value like he did with Shane Ray.

We all love Reddick, but there is little talk of Reddick to Broncos in the mock world. Odd.

I really hope the Broncs nab a corner (elite secondary) in the first three rounds unless there is a major run on the position.

Rumor is Rueben Foster might need another surgery on his shoulder, I'm not giving up on him having a Roby/Ray draft day slide right into Denver's lap.
