I'm really surprised there's no one on that flight that would take $800 a night in a hotel.

I would have taken the hotel room and spent the 800 on hookers

lol you notice he said $800 on hookers... plural. Now I can honestly say I've never hired (used?) a prostitute but I would think that $800 for multiple would be some bargain basement women.

It's $800 flight voucher, not cold hard cash. You get a cheap hotel and $10 meal ticket (if stay the night you get 3 - one for lunch, dinner and breakfast if you spend the night). The meal voucher can used at the hotel and airport only.

I went through it last week. The travel voucher has to be used in a year and they can only upgrade you from to Economy to Economy Plus. The max voucher for United is $1000 and they won't give you miles. The best thing to do is bitch on twitter and you might get some extra perks. The airline watch the twitter sphere but won't answer emails or call anymore.
