    Nicki Jhabvala‏Verified account @NickiJhabvala 16m16 minutes ago

Vance Joseph on Broncos run def.: "I think a combination of the frequency of runs and the front seven's mechanics, we got to get better."

    Andrew Mason‏Verified account @MaseDenver 16m16 minutes ago

Joseph says part of the reason the Broncos struggled against the run was b/c the offense wasn't scoring, so opponents could run it more.

    Andrew Mason‏Verified account @MaseDenver 15m15 minutes ago

Run defense "was a big-picture issue" last year, Joseph said ... not solely on the defense itself.

Honestly, I like most of what he's saying right now. We'll see how this team looks in a few months though. It's great to talk a big game, we'll see what he delivers.

Yup. With no left tackle. Oh, well, maybe Ryan Clady will step into the Way-Back-Machine and go back to 2008 when he had two healthy knees and they can sign him!

Man, when we draft a LT who plays on par with Okung's worthless season you're going to be so happy, Cugel.

They will trade for a LT or pick up a veteran that has not yet been released.

Not in the first round! Best Player Available! NO reaches! Broncos need an offensive playmaker: Day 1 IMPACT player! We want a guy who can step on the field and start and excel. And there are guys who fill that bill at positions of need:

BEST Option for first round: #1 - TE OJ Howard, or David Njoku
#2nd best - RB Dalvin Cook or Christian McCaffrey. (Leonard Fournette will be long gone).
    #3rd best - WR - John Ross

T in the 2nd or 3rd round. If you don't draft a TE in the first, then get one in the first 4 rounds. This draft is very deep at TE. Nobody in this draft is likely to start at LT and be any good their first year. And we can't waste another year of this elite defense while Aquib Talib, TJ Ward and Darien Stewart get older!

There's lots of defensive stars in the draft too, so a first round TE, 2nd round DE, 3rd round T, maybe also a RB. That would be a good draft. They need about 3 solid starters from this draft.

The draft has not been kind to Denver in recent years:

2016: 1st round Paxton Lynch , 2nd round Adam Gotsis.
2015: 2nd round Ty Sambrailo, 3rd round Jeff Heurmann.
2014: 2nd round Cody Latimer, 3rd round Michael Schofield.
2013: 2nd round Montee Ball, 3rd round Kayvon Webster (decent player but never started so that's not a hit).
2012: 2nd round: Brock Osweiler, 3rd round Ronnie Hillman.
2011: 2nd round: Rahim Moore, Orlando Franklin, 3rd round Nate Irving.

That's quite a lot of busts in high rounds. Not all players will hit for anybody, but that is not a good batting average in the 2nd round. They need to do better than that.

And drafting for need can be a disaster: Exhibit A - 1998 1st round pick WR Marcus Nash. Urf.
