Yes, stagecoaches. If you were talking wagon train, then I could see 3 months, but stagecoaches were much faster because they weren't weighed down with as much baggage.

haven't paid too much attention recently to this but I think the thing that doomed the city of Oakland was the As signing a ten year lease. I knew it was trouble for the city when it was signed.

I know the whole thing was a joke, & I doubt he meant bus. Having been raised in Wyoming, people like to joke about us still living in the wild west. So I assumed that he was picking on Nebraskans in the same manner. I'm just amusing myself the same way the "Onion" pretends that it writing serious stories that are obviously jokes.

Personally, I am somewhat bummed. Every year, we attend Broncos vs. Raiders game in Oakland since 1995. We used to go to Disneyland and hit Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum for Broncos vs. Raiders in 80's. I will cherish games in California. Elway was here. Bo Jackson was here. Peyton Manning was here. Howie Long was here and others.

On the bright side, it would be fun to fly to Vegas for gamble, party, and Broncos vs. Raiders game in one weekend. Go Broncos!

Makes you wonder what the atmosphere will be like. I am betting there will be more fans of other teams, especially if the Broncos are playing. No home field advantage since most of those attending are going to be tourist! Lol

Stage Coaches could travel about 40 miles per day on a good day.

It's about 1200 miles, give or take from Nebraska to Las Vegas.

1200/40 = 30 days minimum to travel via Stage Coach one way.

I went to Vegas three weeks ago and I followed that up by going to California and I saw as many Raider fans in Vegas as I saw anywhere in California. It was insane how many people were wearing Raider gear in Vegas.
