Default Early Fanspeak 2017 Mock (5 rounds)

    20: R1P20

    OT RYAN RAMCZYK

    WISCONSIN
I'm not thrilled with the OT class but this is the best of the bunch.

    51: R2P19
    LB JARRAD DAVIS
    FLORIDA
An inside thumper we were lacking last season for the run game.

    91: R3P27
    TE JORDAN LEGGETT
    CLEMSON
Came up big during Tigers' National Champ run. Can get deep.

    101: R3P37
    RB D'ONTA FOREMAN
    TEXAS
Questionable pass catcher but terrific runner and blocker.

    127: R4P20
    CB HOWARD WILSON
    HOUSTON
Excellent ball skills, will make plays.

    132: R4P25
    DL NAZAIR JONES
    NORTH CAROLINA
    More run-stuffing for the d-line.

    177: R5P33
    WR NOAH BROWN
    OHIO STATE
Should have stayed in school but has NFL tools, needs refining.

This was a five-rounder with one trade. I'm still learning the lower half of the draft board and the combine will no-doubt shake things up. I liked how this one fell just right with the guys I wanted at the points I needed them.
I miss the old Mile High Stadium.

You counting the taco as one of them?

    Edit;

Now I get it, definitely talking about that 1st round taco. There's a dude named Taco in this draft and I had to read the OP a couple more times to see wtf you were talking about.

No worries. I think we definitely need a taco (left tackle, not Taco Charlton although he's a good player) in the first round. Currently, I'd rank them

    Ramczyk
    Robinson
    Bolles

and if none are available, go after Johnson from Florida State in the second round.

It might be easy to get distracted by a McCaffrey or a Peppers in the first round but we definitely need better tacos if we want to play for the Big Enchilada.

    Hey, look! We got Cook!

Today's Bronco draft was from the CBS Sports board and the #20 spot had already seen McCaffrey and the top OTs off the board so I decided to trade down, first to the Seahawks at #26 for a low 3rd and then with Dallas at #28 for another low third. Well, still on the board was Florida St's RB Darvin Cook who many rate as a Top-10 player. Just too good a value to pass even though RB isn't a first-round need in my eyes.

Then, with four low thirds, I used two of them to move back up in the second round and take the OL I need. That turned out to be Forrest Lamp.

After that, I took the best DL left on the board in the third and took TE Jordan Leggett over Butt with my comp third. Added Julie'n Davenport at OT whom many here like and an inside LB to round out my five-round mock.

    28: R1P28

    RB DALVIN COOK
    FLORIDA STATE
Not my favorite back but too talented to pass up here.

    36: R2P4
    G FORREST LAMP
    WESTERN KENTUCKY
Magically grew his arms for the combine. Size is his only real knock.

    82: R3P18
    DL VINCENT TAYLOR
    OKLAHOMA STATE
Big play quick-twitch DL with a knack for blocked kicks.

    101: R3P37
    TE JORDAN LEGGETT
    CLEMSON
Said to be a bit lazy but has size/speed/hands to be coverage nightmare.

    127: R4P20
    OT JULIE'N DAVENPORT
    BUCKNELL
Can we find an LT out of Bucknell? The Broncos seem to think so.

    177: R5P33
    LB MATT MILANO
    BOSTON COLLEGE
BC is quietly an LB U. I'd probably go LB again in the 7th for depth.

I grabbed Milano in my 5 minute dicking-around on Fanspeak too. And I'm not messing around at TE - go big or go home.

Used a draft board this morning from "Inside the Pylon" and had everything just fall into place with no trades. As long as we need a LT, I have to ignore other first-round possibilities and take the best LT available which, IMO, is Ramczyk. Almost every other pick is best talent at a position where we can use the upgrade. I'd consider this a draft home run.

I am not an engram fan. I see him as a blocking WR. He is same size as DT. I think he is a small atheltic TE

Here's what CBS Sports.com says about Engram:

STRENTHS: While listed as a tight end on the roster, Engram is better described as a versatile offensive weapon, lining up out wide, in-line and in the background at Ole Miss. He looks more like a physical wideout than traditional tight end with his size and growth potential, but his athleticism allows him to create mismatches vs. linebackers and safeties. Engram has elite short-area quickness for the position with excellent release off the line of scrimmage and agile feet to create separation out of his breaks and make defenders miss. He is also a tougher blocker than he looks with a quick punch and excellent balance.

IN OUR VIEW: Engram might not fit the prototypical profile of NFL tight ends, but he can be a difference-maker in the right offense.

I saw similar write ups about him. But when we have no legit TE i rather get one for red zone offense. Yes i think he could be great in the right offense same as McCaffery. I am thinking of McCoys offense last time. He used Moreno a lot who caught ball a lot and used JT size and speed to create mismatches and was awesome in red zone. Just my thoughts.

Not to split hairs, because I kind of agree with your overall point, but I don't think mccoy used JT at all. Pretty sure that was gase
