Rapoport is reporting the Browns might just cut him, NBA style.
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

Osweiler experiment over. They cut their losses. Good luck with Browns.

Texans have Tom Savage and Brandon Weeden on roster. Will add veteran or use a high draft choice on QB.

By trading Osweiler, Texans had a cap cleaning. They won't trade for Romo but will be interested if he becomes a UFA. Have more 2 spend.

Last year on this day, #Texans signed Osweiler. They traded him to Cleveland today. One and done. Seems like works better in Kentucky.

Sure glad Elway drafted him over Russell Wilson and Kirk Cousins.

    Just kidding.

No, that was an official gaffe, right?

Default Browns acquire Brock Osweiler and 2018 2nd round pick in trade with Texans

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Browns acquired Texans quarterback Brock Osweiler and a second-round pick in 2018, a league source told cleveland.com.

The Browns sent a 2017 fourth-round pick (142 overall) to Houston.

The Browns also get a 2017 sixth-round pick (188 overall).

For the Browns, it's all about acquiring that second-round pick and not as much about Osweiler.

It will not preclude them from trying to trade for Patriots backup Jimmy Garoppolo, which they're still expected to do.

They also take Osweiler's big contract off the Texans' hands.

Essentially, it's a pick-for-cash trade that benefits both teams.

It's also the essence of Moneyball.

It doesn't necessarily mean the Browns will release Robert Griffin III.

He's due a $750,000 bonus on Saturday, and the Browns might pay the bonus and continue to work on their quarterback position.
