1.) Nobody accidentally screws up a fax when the stakes are that high. He saw a loophole and sought to exploit it. He fired his agent for the PR benefit.

2.) Our run defense used to get regularly crushed when Doom was a starter for us. He might be fine as a situational pass rusher but that's a luxury we don't need and can't afford. I think if you're going to tie big money up in that position they better have prototypical size.
