There's a lot of hype about McCaffrey, but let's reel that in. This dude is a total cancer. Look at what a prominent draft analysis website had to say about him:

    Weaknesses:
    Lacks ideal bulk
Can he handle a big work load of carries in the NFL?
Some teammates don't like how he pushes them
    Pass.

How does C-mac make it out of the top 5? I'm partially joking.

    Strengths:
    Fast, explosive play-maker
    Slashing back
    Very sudden
    Patience
    Excellent vision
Rare feel, instincts as a runner
Very good knee bend, body lean
    Great elusiveness to dodge tacklers
    Consistent sources of big plays
Threat to rip off a long gain on any touch
    Elusive runner
    Great cutting ability
    Finishes runs well
    Can get yards after contact
    Soft hands as a receiver
    Great route-runner
    Quickness to get open
    Very good at getting separation
    Excellent run-after-the-catch ability
    First-step quickness
    Second-gear speed
    Sudden
    Big-play threat
Tough enough to run the ball between the tackles
Explosive burst at the second level as a runner
    Dangerous in the open field
Experienced and successful against good college programs
Makes big plays in the clutch
    Durability
    Ready to contribute immediately
    Intelligent
    Hard worker
    Team leader
    Competitor
Pushes his teammates to be better

We need him to pull a Shane ray and get busted with a bag of ditch weed.

I'm actually totally fine with that. We've got a lot of picks this year thanks to compensatory picks that are tradable this year.

Yeah. And we have to get rid of Talib right now for the same reason. We don't want to hurt the feelings of any fumbling machines who have no business still being on the roster.

McCaffrey would only fill 5 holes on this roster.

    1. RB Depth
    2. Slot Receiver
    3. Kickoff Returner
    4. Punt Returner
    5. Game Breaker

Motioning him out of the backfield into the slot would be a defensive coordinator's nightmare. McCoy would make this kid a star.

RB depth is an issue? I'm not sure I agree.

Slot receiver - he's not going to be in the slot every snap. I'm not sure that he's fulfilling a hole there.

Return game - maybe, but I'm still apprehensive of putting a first rounder back there. He's going to take enough abuse as it is.

Game Breaker - we have two of them at WR and one of them at RB. It's not so much a hole as it is an issue on the team for other reasons. The QB+line play...makes it hard for gamebreakers to actually be gamebreakers.

We picked up a game breaking running back in the offseason and I missed it? I need to play closer attention.

C.J. Anderson is still on the roster.

CJ Anderson became a game breaking running back and I missed it? I need to pay closer attention.

    Yep.

If McCaffrey had a different last name I don't think as many of us would be enamored with him.
