Default Case For or Against Joe Mixon

Should he be given a chance since he has been relative clean since the incident 3 years ago? Would Elway even consider drafting him?

Personally, I believe second chances. To my knowledge, the kid has stayed clean since that awful incident and has tried to make amends by speaking out violence against women.

As to football, this kid has 1st round talent and is a threat both running and catching to ball. Something our offense is sorely lacking. Adding a talented kid like Mixon could possibly reap dividends similar to those gained by KC with Tyreek Hill.

No offense to CJ and Juwann Thompson, but I would love to have the following stable of backs:

    Mixon
    Booker
    Bibbs-as 3rd down COP back
    Janovich

    What say you?

I dont really see CJ going anywhere, at least yet. Juwan? Maybe.

As to Mixon, i think that if Denver is going to go with a RB than they would be better served just going after a guy like Cook or McCaffery personally. Not to mention i have a pretty big bias against guys who slap around women and even though it was a couple of years ago im just not very forgiving in that aspect but thats just my personal view on that.

I think Jano and Booker stay but not sure about Bibbs.

Im not really even sure if Denver even touches a RB this year in the draft. To many other needs at the moment.

Would you be upset if they did draft him?

I would have no problem with it, personally. Every player isn't going to be a boy scout.

Not really sure to be honest. Chances are probably not unless he found himself back in trouble again, especially for the same offenses. But we drafted Ray with some questionable marks and he seems to be ok right now. Im just not sure if he is the be all end all to our RB woes though and i do think there are much better backs in the draft if we felt it was a position of need.

Not until he became a distraction. Kids should get chances to mature.

I heard some teams took him off their draft boards and he is expected to be a late round pick. If that is the case, why not?

Has his assault been settled or could things still come up?

Yep, if you can take a late round flyer on him you might as well. Look at a case like Dallas with that o-lineman a few years back (blanking on his name) that had first round talent but huge legal issues hanging over his head. They picked him in the 7th round, the legal issues went away, now they have a stud. Worth the risk IMO.

That lineman also said he would not play for many teams who drafted him if after 1st round and many did jot want yo waste a pick.

It's been settled. Almost two years ago.

Late round pick, sure. They're all a risk, I don't think a late round pick is much of a gamble. If he has matured and his talent is what it seems we get a huge payoff for minimal risk. If he slaps his girlfriend while he's a Bronco then cut him immediately and you only lost a late round pick.

I don't really think he is an elway type player tho.
