My plan is to find something reasonable on craigslist and buy it. Anyone have advice for me? (e.g. "don't do it", "get something with/without shower" etc.)

Go for it. My brother has one and loves it.

I really liked our pop-up. It's got the benefit of being weather sealed but you can also unzip the shell and let the breeze blow through and it can have the feel of tent camping. If you can find one with a bathroom that is a definite plus. Makes off-grid camping much easier.
Practice the set up procedure in the drive way a few times and you'll be a pro. We had it so our set up was about 15-20 minutes, piece of cake.
Let's Rid3!!!!
My friend is coming over for dinner on Friday and they bought a big one last year - I can ask him for advice.
My cousin owned an Airstream and that sucker was nice - but I know those are expensive (and not pop-up).
My uncle left behind an old pop up camper when I was in HS. I took it to a senior party, we didn't set it up properly because I was an idiot, us drunken teenagers piled in and bent the shit out of the support poles on either side and it took us like 2 hours sledge hammering the thing back in the next morning. I believe it would be impossible to pop that thing back up without the jaws of life or something. So don't do that.
We had a Jayco growing up. When I had my growth spurt my dad kicked me outside into a pup tent.
Whatever the sale price is, offer 55%, and say, " you'll take x and say thank you "
This deal absolutely has to take place in a Walmart parking lot.
For the record I really wish you were buying a used Winnebago.
Wow. Just googled some. Surprised how expensive they are.
In all seriousness, I'd like a pop up tent.
We have put in two bids on these two pop-ups.

I have a feeling we will soon own the 2011 Coachman, as my bid was close to ask.

Man those pop ups look great. Easy to pull right?
