Default Dolphins working to finalize trade sending Branden Albert to Jaguars for Julius Thomas

The Miami Dolphins are working on a trade with Jacksonville that would swap left tackle Branden Albert for Jaguars tight end Julius Thomas, according to league sources.

The trade may be contingent on Albert and Thomas restructuring their contracts. The players would also need to pass physicals, and a deal can’t be finalized until the start of the new league year on March 9.

However, multiple sources say that all parties are willing participants, and that includes Albert, who said so directly to the Sun Sentinel.

Actually, this might be a career saving move for Julius Thomas, who will be reunited with Adam Gase. Gase knows exactly what he is getting in JT, and Albert gets to stay a staring Left Tackle presumably without taking a pay cut. Seems like a win-win for both players and both teams, who have way overpaid for production from big name free agents in the last few years.

Nah. Gase knows Orange Julius can't block, and will keep him out of harm's way as much as possible. I'd expect him to miss his usual slate of 5-6 games or so, but nothing like the two years in Jacksonville where they thought he was an actual football player (he's not).

They decided not to at the last minute when they found out he had some trade value.

Blocking was one reason (made of glass being the other reason) that Jags are giving up on JT, apparently they were under the impression that that's even negotiable with Princess Julius.

He took a pay cut to facilitate a trade and would never do that with Denver, I think the feelings are mutual.

You watch, when his physical skills diminish he'll decide to start playing football to milk some more money out of it.

I like players who score TD's.
