    Disclaimer that I'm not excusing it at all, but you have to wonder how much he got screwed up by his dad as a kid. You have to imagine he had the same stuff done to him that was done to those other kids.

    I have seen studies where they believe there is a genetic trait that can be passed along. Whether the trait makes you predisposed or is a certainty to doom one to these habits and actions is still being debated.

    I do know that those whom are abused are more likely to become abusers themselves.

    I would love to see the studies regarding a genetic trait. Never heard of that before, not doubting you, it's just new to me.

    As for your second assertion, I contest that. Some undoubtedly do abuse, but they are in no way more likely to abuse simply because they experienced the abuse themselves
