    no one on that list is worth bringing in to compete for the job. . . i would sign josh mccown as a mentor and veteran backup, but that's it. . .

    fellas, it's either tony romo, or the trevor and paxton show. . .

    Adam Schefter
    @AdamSchefter

    Bears are releasing QB Jay Cutler, per sources. Cutler asked for and was granted his release this morning. Now a free agent.

    How bout that Bears team Jay? Was it all you hoped it would be? lmao

If I'm his agent I make sure he knows that as a local Denver talent coming home he can increase his post-career marketability in Denver in ways he can't in Jacksonville, and it will make up the difference.
    Now THAT is some sweet orange colored glasses homer spin. Post-career marketability over no taxes and more annual $$? That ain't swayin' nobody. But hopefully his desire to win and be in a familiar city will overcome more annual $$ and no taxes.

    Probably this. That's a garbage list of QBs. I do still think there would be a chance for Kap because Elway seems to like him, but the price would have to be right.

    Hypothetically speaking, if it comes down to Campbell or Romo and you can't have both - who is your priority? Obviously I favor Campbell, but am curious where you stand.

    Looking at that list of QBs, aside from Tony and Jay, he's pretty close to the top on probably most lists so he can still command more than I think he's worth and probably more than Elway is willing to pay for him.

    As someone who lives in NY, I would love to see this happen. The meltdowns in the media and of my friends on Facebook would be glorious.

    Signing Cutler would be such a Jets move.

    kaepernick is a waste of time, don't kid yourselves. . . the guy is going to be thirty midway through the year, and he still can't go past one or two reads. . . if guys like harbaugh and kelly couldn't develop him into anything more than he is, i don't see any reason to think mccoy and musgrave can do significantly better with him at this point in his career. . . besides which, he is also beat up, and starting to show signs of physical decline as well. . . there's no point spending time on a veteran reclamation project who's neither an immediate answer or a long term one. . .
