2017 Free Agency mega thread
Might as well start this now. There have already been a few cuts in the last week or so but nothing too major. This will be the thread for all FA news in the coming weeks. Free agency officially begins on March 9. It's one of my favorite times of year, if I do say so.
Can we maybe get a sticky for this, possibly to replace the 2016 version that's currently there? Thanks!

And to that effect, I got an ESPN alert on my phone. Legwold says the Broncos are trying to meet with Cruz. No link that I can find yet. I had a feeling we might be interested if we can get him cheap. He's an ideal slot receiver, something we are sorely lacking.Originally Posted by VonDoom

Victor Cruz ain't been physically right in 3 years. Let him finish the end of his injury riddled career elsewhere.

I thought he looked pretty good this year for the first time since the injury. The Giants just didn't feed him the ball enough. As with most guys like this, it would depend on the price. I also would rather spend our first FA dollars elsewhere. I do like him, though.

It may be a tricky negotiation because Webster no doubt would like a chance to at least become a nickel back, if not start, and the Broncos still have three cornerbacks ahead of him in Aqib Talib, Chris Harris Jr. and Bradley Roby.
Then again, Broncos safety David Bruton Jr. was in a similar situation last season and he chose to sign with Washington because the long-time special teams standout wanted a chance to start. Bruton wound up getting placed on season-ending injured reserve after four games and released after the season.
Sometimes, a player benefits from a fresh start. And sometimes a player is better off sticking with people who have long believed in him. The expectation is Webster will test the market to discover his value.
As a special teams player, Webster has established himself the past two seasons as one of the best “gunners,’’ if not the best, in the league. As a cornerback, though, Webster averaged just 4.5 defensive plays in 13 games last year.
