Thread: Any of you married to a social worker

My oldest son's mother was a child support officer for the state of Idaho. That's a type of social worker I suppose. She got the job after college. She has a degree in sociology. I don't know if that helps Dave.

From what I hear Bostonians need a lot of help, with basic skills such as going to the bathroom and such.

Wild speculation from an outsider who isn't married to a social worker:

With all of the gun violence we've experienced here and the constant talk about recommitting to mental health - it feels like if you had some deep specialization in gun violence or its knock-on effects then those skills will be in demand here for the forseeable future. You could start down that path now and then when we finally get around to doing something about it you'll be well positioned.

I was gonna go for my Masters in Social Work once but I decided against it. Seems like a lot of work.

Yeah. My "specialism" is in domestic violence and childhood attachment.

I honestly might look at applying to a PhD programme in one of those fields

Colorado, Idaho, Montana or Arizona. At the minute but I'm prepared to make a stepping stone move anywhere

If it is unachievable I will turn my focus back to Canada, Australia or New Zealand.

But like I said, I have four years to plan it, so I will explore all possibilities.

Maybe you should consider NW Wyoming also.

Arizona? Unless you are talking about the Flagstaff area, FOREGET IT!
