Default Steelers coach Joey Porter placed on leave after arrest

Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebackers coach Joey Porter was arrested on the south side of Pittsburgh on Sunday night. The team announced Monday he would be placed on leave pending further review.

A Pittsburgh police officer was summoned to a bar at approximately 9:30 p.m. ET due to "an unruly customer who was in the process of assaulting the doorman", who was later identified as Porter, according to a statement from the City of Pittsburgh Public Safety Department.

Porter was then arrested and charged on suspicion of aggravated assault, simple assault, resisting arrest and public drunkenness. Porter was booked into the Allegheny County Jail overnight.

Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert released the following statement on Monday afternoon:

Porter picks fights with opposing players and had Levi Jones jumped in Las Vegas.

    He's a trash human being.

We agree on a lot of stuff. I just hate your team, your QB, your coach, and most of your fanbase. That's all.

When he was a Bengals "fan" he wanted their lead RB Rudi Johnson dead so I'm not really sure any fan base would want this great "fan" to switch allegiance to their team and wish their players dead.
