An everpresent sound during 1965 and the latter half of the 1960s was Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass. The above album cover and ABC's The Dating Game helped to get them noticed but their sales went through the roof with "Whipped Cream and Other Delights" followed by "Going Places" with their catchy Mariachi-style songs and clever arrangements that touched all sorts of music genres.
Oddly enough, Alpert was not Hispanic (neither was half his ensemble) and the fetching model on the album cover is not only covered head to toe in shaving cream (after they found that whipped cream melted too fast under the lights) but the model herself was seated because she was visibly pregnant by the time they could arrange the photo shoot. But the music itself is what stays with you even 50 years later. The albums have now been remastered and available as .mp3 downloads so you can listen to the quality that was unavailable on album pressings of the time.

I miss the old Mile High Stadium.
I have greatest hit compilations in this as well... this is basically a list of albums I can throw in and listen to the whole thing without skipping songs. I can't do that with many.

-Master of Reality is really the only "metal" album I will back.
-CCR greatest hits is a fine decision. The only album of theirs I would say is good all the way through is Cosmo's Factory.
-Rumours is hard to beat
-My favorite Zeppelin is III because of the acoustics.
-Van Morrison's Astral Weeks and Moondance are both great albums.
-I know The Dude hates them, but an Eagles greatest hits album is essential.
-Same for Johnny Cash
-My favorite Pink Floyd is the OG: Piper at the Gates of Dawn
-Never Mind the Bollocks isn't on my list of favorite punk albums, but it's still good and an essential classic
None of the other Pink Floyd albums do it for me. I can recognize that they are all good and i'm glad that people enjoy them, but I can only handle so much clean-cut esoteric prog music (which can get a little boring to me). DSotM and the others are nice and all, but they're too clean for me. I tend to prefer the rough around the edges side of rock music. The first PF song I remember listening to and loving was "Bike" because it was so ******* weird and unlike anything i'd heard before. All hail Syd Barrett.
Ergo, GFY.

Piper is pretty solid.
