I've seen Clayton Kershaw throw a wild pitch when he was pitching normally. The fact that it hasn't happened yet simply means that because intentionally throwing at a guy isn't super common, it's less likely. And, since he threw his top heater at Harper, he did get out of the way somewhat, had it hit him square in the ribs, he's probably missing time on the DL.

Your point is invalid and actually supports mine.

Bah. These guys throw a ball the size of your fist over a 12-inch plate from 60 feet away for a living. They know where its going.

Kershaw had a wild pitch two games ago - they're know where they want it to go and they know they can put it there the vast majority of the time.

    The risk is there.

If that's the argument, then no one should step into the batter's box because there is risk on every pitch. There is more than 3,000 pitches thrown at the major league level every single night.

No sir - the risk is acceptable because it's a sport being played - the excess risk becomes when someone wants to be billy badass.

This is almost exactly how you handle a pathetic coward throwing a ball at you... the only thing he did wrong was drop the bat, he should have planted it between that ******s eyes.

A pitcher throwing a ball at a batter is the most pathetic, cowardly thing in sports. Every time I see it I think a little less of the MLB, what kind of ******* ***** throws a ball at someone because their fellings got hurt? That's a ******* 8 year old's mentality

2019 at the earliest. Would be surprising before then. He's a free agent in 2020.

That entire organization is worthless. They should just ******* blow up the team and get prospects. Surely someone would take Votto, even though his contract is an abortion.

The Dodgers trading for Forsythe and emergence of Bellinger makes it unlikely that they'd try to get Hamilton.

I doubt anyone takes Votto and I'm not sure he'd waive the full no-trade clause he has. He likes it there. It somewhat helps to have a steady face during a rebuild too.

Bellinger is a nice player, but he's not going to be great. Hamilton is arguably great.

Votto is a strange, strange guy. He's not going to waive that clause because he likes the low profile. He's kind of a waste of talent in that sense but he's not because he's been a wonderful player. Cincinnati will be rebuilding for the next ten years. He'll love it.
