    Default 2017 Draft

Broncos have a lot of picks. What do you think?

In particular, are there any great matches of consensus projection and talent? Which positions run deep this draft? Do you think OT / OG is a factor this year? What about a speed player?

OT is suppose to be a weak class this year.

My feasible but unrealistic start of a solution.

Trade a 3rd to jets for Sheldon Richardson
Trade a 3rd to Cleveland for Joe Thomas
    Sign dontario Poe
Keep Vance walker and Kayvan Webster
    Sign zeitler

Go into draft with 1,2,3,4,6,6,7.....or something close to that.

Take TE jake Butt or njoku with our 2nd....still working on the rest
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

There are some decent OL if their teams let them walk. Bengals Lt and lg will be FA.

Jake Buttocks tore his ACL, might be available later in draft.

Btw, my very first move to a solution is seeing what NE would give for Sunshine, slow and white af...might be worth a grip of picks to the Cheats.

I think Matt Kalil and Luke Joekel make better short term options than some of the draft prospects, they have the physical talent and skills to get drafted Top 10 and presumably would be 4-5 years ahead of rookies in adjusting to the NFL. You can probably get Kalil about the same salary as Stephenson. Joekel is a solid starter who moved to LG last season, shouldn't break the bank either.

Greg Robinson is said to be on chopping block in LA, late round conditional pick, maybe.

If you watch these players they're not a Michael Schoefield at RT bad, forget where PFF ranks them, they're NFL starters. They don't get beat as consistently (constantly) as Garcia, Sampro, Stephenson and Schofield.

The key is getting them coached up, but the same is true of the inevitable rookie class of OL that Denver will bring in and what ever holdovers make it to TC.

What I'm saying is; I think next years OL should be a mixture of holdovers and veteran bridge players (and maybe a 1st round rookie) that give several rookies a couple/few years to develop. The days of Chris Kuper, Ryan Clady and Debo Franklin hitting the ground running appear to be over in the NFL.

I'm not a college football guy, so tell me what you think about these prospects.

    Reuben Foster at 20
    Ryan Ramczyk at 20
    Malik McDowell at 20
Dan Feeney at 20, ~51, or in between via swap
    Antonio Garcia at ~82

Ramczyk is a hot prospect, based on name appeal alone. I really hope he's a fullback, MO's commentary will be delicious!

Foster and McDowell should be gone, but they're not you flip a coin and run (Don't walk) to the podium.

Ramcyk MIGHT be there, I say might for two reasons; the first is he's having surgery that would keep him out of draft/combine participation so he may not even declare for the draft. And the second reason is if he is there at 20 it's only because he didn't participate in combine/Pro Day process. He's probably 1st OT drafted if healthy.

Feeney is dropping with draft analysts for whatever reason but there's nothing from "inside sources" sources like Zierlien/Brooks/Jeremiah or Walter Football to suggest he's dropping. The problem with him is the offense he played in but Spriggs was able to start games as a rookie in a ZBS for the Pack.

Unfortunately I think Garcia is rising and won't be there at 51, which is where he probably should go considering his level of competition. But the dude reminds me of Cedric Ogbuehi, height/weight/speed-wise, and didn't give up a sack in 900 snaps this season.

Just watched some film on these guys (minus McDowell). I'd be stoked if Foster was still around at 20, but I don't see it. Foster just has a certain violence and canniness about him and I don't know if that can be taught. Ramczyk at 20 looks fine, but I wasn't blown away by his Ohio State game. Garcia (projected around 70ish) at 51 also looks fine. Besides Foster, I was most impressed with Garcia's film. I get that Troy is not a powerhouse team, but he looked like a man among boys even against quality opponents. Feeney didn't impress as much.

Troy played Clemson this year and gave them all they wanted for 3 quarters, Garcia played a hell of a game against a very good OL. He moves like an NFL LT.
