Default Debbie Reynolds, ‘Singin’ in the Rain’ Star and Carrie Fisher’s Mother, Dies at 84

Debbie Reynolds, the Oscar-nominated singer-actress who was the mother of late actress Carrie Fisher, has died at Cedars-Sinai hospital. She was 84.

“She wanted to be with Carrie,” her son Todd Fisher told Variety.

She was taken to the hospital from Todd Fisher’s Beverly Hills house Wednesday after a suspected stroke, the day after her daughter Carrie Fisher died.

Wow! That was like my HS buddy this year. He died of a rare liver disease at 42, and his Mom died shortly after.

Death by broken heart is a real thing. Something similar happened with my Grandma, she died within 5 days of my Aunt Becky's passing. My poor Aunt Susan flew over to Hawaii for the funeral only to immediately fly back for another one.
