    Default It’s official: Christian McCaffrey will enter the 2017 NFL draft

    Stanford star running back and 2015 Heisman Trophy runner-up Christian McCaffrey announced Wednesday that he will forgo his senior season and enter the NFL draft.

    Christian McCaffrey

    @CMccaffrey5

    After three incredible years at Stanford, I've decided to enter the 2017 NFL draft. #BlessedByTheBest
    10:01 AM - 7 Dec 2016

    In a lengthy letter and a later news conference at Stanford, McCaffrey said he knew it was time to enter the draft following the Cardinal’s final regular-season game against Rice. After receiving advice from many — including his parents, former Stanford running back Toby Gerhart and coach David Shaw — he made it official.

    “I’m ready. I just think I’m ready,” he said. “My body’s in the position it needs to be in to go out there and play at the next level. I’ve had some success in my college career, but after talking with Coach Shaw, talking with my dad, talking with a lot of other mentors in my life, I just thought I’m ready to go.”

    I wish him well. The RB class in this draft is already starting to look deep.
    I miss the old Mile High Stadium.

    On cbssports mock draft, two different people have Christian going in the 1st round. One has him going to the Raiders, and the other one to the Patriots

    Its a new trend to sit out final bowl games. Who can blame them? Who wants to risk mega millions with a Magahee injury?

    Those type of injuries are really rare though. I think MaGahee still got drafted in the first round though if my recollection is correct.

    But common sense would say to stop playing football for free.
    I did hear these two guys are going to play in the Senior Bowl. Does anyone know if thats true?

    Only eligible if they're seniors.

    Lammey mentioned the same thing as Nomad, P*triots love McCaffrey. Would be nice to have him as a PR but the fact that he's on P*triots radar is a huge red flag to me. Rich mans Kevin Faulk, Broncos have already tried that.

    If the Cheats could field an entire team with white dudes they would, btw.

    I still like Forsett. The verdict isnt quite done on Booker yet but agree that McCaffery would be a special playmaker if we took him.

    Booker looked good yesterday until he started carrying the ball like a loaf of bread. That kind of ball security should never be seen from a rb.
