    from article:

His mother, Khalada, told USA TODAY Sports Tuesday that police said they suspect it’s a suicide after finding a note.

“They said they found a note and would share that with us when we get there,” Salaam’s mother said.

“It’s just a big trip. That’s all I can say,” Salaam’s mother said. “We just found out this morning, and we’re going to Colorado to take care of him.”

She said the family hopes to bury him in Boulder because “he liked it there and was successful there, and he liked the people there.”

I hope I remember this correctly: Got over 2,000 on a sweep right that went for a long TD (52 yards sticks in my head) in the final game of the regular season against Iowa State. Man I loved watching him run. I was a big Buffs fan as a little kid. After I went to college elsewhere that's changed a little. He was a big reason.
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

BOULDER, Colo. -- The brother of former University of Colorado Boulder football star and Heisman trophy winner Rashaan Salaam told USA Today that Salaam had the symptoms associated with CTE, chronic traumatic encephalopathy.

Salaam was found dead Dec. 5 in the parking lot of Eben G. Fine Park in Boulder. The Boulder County Coroner's Office still hasn't officially said how Salaam died. Salaam was 42.

Jabali Alaji, Salaam’s brother, told USA Today, that Salaam had "all the symptoms" associated with chronic football head trauma including, depression, anxiety, apathy and memory loss.

A friend of Salaam's, Riley Hawkins, told the Denver Post that Salaam seemed to be suffering from manic depression.

“He had become more of a recluse,” Hawkins said. “That’s when the demons took over.”
Sounds like Wallace from the Steelers.
