It looked to me like she put him in a difficult situation. It's not CU's job to protect him from legal ramifications and help him keep his job. She should have called the police instead of putting the coach in a no win situation.
"I want your help, but don't fire him and don't call the police."
She's a grown woman for crying out loud. Call the police
Having said all of that, she suffered horribly as a victim, and what CU should have done is just called the police in spite of what she had requested. He should have been immediately suspended.
