The only reason he is even there is because the Mets are short handed right now.
    Bill Williamson:

"The Broncos went from one of the more attractive organizations in the NFL to one in total disarray. McDaniels will go down as one of the most reviled figures in Denver sports history".

Mets' Tim Tebow remains hot, has first multi-hit game
3 hits in his last 6 at bats is good, but not quite good enough to completely blot out him now being 3 for 14 with 4 strike outs.

He did make a pretty nice catch in the outfield today too.

I don't think he'll make it as a Major Leaguer but the fact that he has three hits against MLB pitching and can make plays in the field like he did today is certainly a testament to his overall athletic prowess when you consider he hasn't played baseball since HS. I'm guessing there's some guys hitting worse than .214 right now. Again, I'm not saying he's gonna make and nor should he unless he somehow earns it but it's not as if he's a complete failure either

There are 6 D-Backs, with as many or more at bats, with a worse batting average.

Absolutely. And outfielders who can make that catch in the minors are a dime a dozen. He's never going to hit for a high average, as far as I can see with his swing and his approach. Maybe with time, but he could hit with power. This takes time though. He's a single A "prospect" right now and if he wants to be a big league player eventually it's going to take two or three years in the minors working to that point. That means quitting the broadcasting job and quitting the speaking circuit and traveling with a minor league team for seven months a year. That's what this sport takes. I don't think he's willing to do it.

None of those players, except maybe Gregor Blanco, will break camp in the majors.

I thought only pitcher were allowed to get away with a .185 batting average, not outfielders.

4 for his last 9 is a great 3 game stretch, bring his batting average up to a nice ,235 for Spring Training.

If his coaches are that impressed with his recent performance, maybe they get the opportunity to climb above him currently being ranked 24th in AB (17) for the Met (Michael Conforto is #1 with 42)
    http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/teams/s...1=5&_1:col_2=4

Him being ranked 21st in hits (4) is a bit better (Michael Conforto is 1st with 4)
    http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/teams/s...1=7&_1:col_2=5

However, he has 0 Rs, HRs & RBI. Of course I lack MO's qualifications to assess the quality of these stats, so I'll eagerly await his verdict.

Oh, this is comical. Even better than the "he's going to be Tom Brady's backup" shit. He's already been designated to the minors. He's not making the final 25. His stats or hits don't matter (but .235 with four singles, no extra base hits...yeah, that's not good). There's a reason he's only playing in road games. He got a start today because they were taking precautions with Nimmo's hamstring.

The Mets starting outfield is Cespedes, Granderson and Bruce. Conforto, Lagares and Nimmo are battling for the fourth outfielder job. Maybe two make it. Tebow will start in Single-A probably.

FB has a "Your Memories on Facebook" to remind you of things that you posted in past years o that day. With Shane's knack for labeling everyone who doesn't throw a ticker-tape parade for Tebow everytime he does something noteworthy, I've decided to post something that FB just reminded me that I posted on March 19, 2012:

    ********************

Now that my NFL team (the Denver Broncos) has signed QB Payton Manning, it’s a forgone conclusion by most that Tim Tebow will be traded. It’s mostly economics; the NFL salary cap (which is intended to keep NFL teams from purchasing championships like the Yankees & Red Sox do in baseball) makes it impossible for teams to pay starting salaries to 2 different QBs. This is why a Broncos’ fan site that I frequent has already started a Tebow tribute thread so everyone can bid fond farewell to a QB who is technically still on our team.

I cringed at the notion of us drafting him because he played for a "stacked deck" collage. I don't care if you do use a "pro-style offence," you don't prepare someone for the pros by putting him on a collage team in which every single teammate of his is athletically superior to the opponent lined up against them in the majority of the games they play. So many of the best athletes coming out of collage, in all sports, without having become proficient in the basic fundamentals of playing their positions because all they need to do to win at that level is to take maximum advantage of their team’s athletic superiority.

Nevertheless, once he put on the orange & blue, he became my QB. All QBs, especially from "stacked deck" collages, need time to develop as pros. I personally don't feel he was given that time here in Denver. I do believe that he will be given that time elsewhere & I hope he does develop. So many fan (myself include) are getting tired of watching selfish athletes doing things to get attention, Tebow is exactly the kind of athlete that people want to see succeed.
