Default Draymond Green faces assault charges in Michigan

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green was arrested Sunday on assault charges in East Lansing, Michigan.

Police told ESPN that Green was arrested at an East Lansing restaurant and that the victim was a man.

"It was basically an altercation between two guys," police said. "There's no injuries. He was released with a $200 bond on Sunday."

Green is scheduled for arraignment on July 20. If convicted, he would face a maximum of 93 days in jail and a $500 fine.

In a statement, the Warriors said they are "aware of news" involving Green.

"At this point, we are collecting information and will have no further comment until we have a better understanding of the situation," the team said.

Draymond Green will be suspended for 5 games this season. I got that news from local news in California.

Oh my goodness, what a shocking headline! I would never expect a guy who likes to hit people in the nuts to get popped for assault.

    Yeah. Not surprising at all.
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

Default USA Basketball reviewing Draymond Green’s arrest

East Lansing — Draymond Green’s arrest for misdemeanor assault in East Lansing on Sunday is being reviewed by USA Basketball, the governing body over the American Olympic team that will compete in the Rio Games next month.

Green, the former Michigan State forward who just finished his fourth season with the Golden State Warriors, is on the 12-player U.S. team.

“USA Basketball is aware of this news,” the organization said in a statement Monday. “At this point, we are collecting all related information and will have no further comment until we have a better understanding of the situation.”

Green was arrested at 2:28 a.m. near the intersection of Grand River and Abbot. He was taken into custody and released later Sunday on $200 bond.

His arraignment is currently scheduled for July 20, conflicting with the U.S. Olympic team’s camp in Las Vegas that is set to take place from July 18-21.
