    This would be a good example of taxpayers dollars going to a worthy cause tough. This school is going to give a lot back to the Akron economy. The GED/job placement programs from the parents of the students will get parents to work instead of living off the government, and the tuition to the university of Akron will keep those kids in the area and give them an education, giving them the chance to be productive members of the community for the rest of their lives. If I were an Akron taxpayer, I would be thrilled to see my tax dollars going to this.

    Fwiw, the annual operating budget for the Akron public school system is 544 million dollars. So this one school increases that by 1.4%. Basically a drop in the bucket.

    And even if the media coverage of LeBron's contributions were a bit overblown, I still think he deserves a ton of credit for what he has done. One of the big criticisms of athletes who do stuff like protest the anthem or bitch on Twitter is that they aren't actually doing anything to help solve the problems they are complaining about. LeBron is putting his time and his money when his mouth is, and that deserves all the praise in the world IMO.
